Max Joseph

Max Joseph is an information technology (IT) professional, and STEM activist for high-need communities. Max founded Do Good 41 in 2019 with the goal of bridging, the educational opportunity gap by offering high-quality STEM \STEAM education programs to high-need communities. Before launching Do Good 41 Max spent 23 years as a successful chief information officer (CIO) working in education, small and medium business, local, and federal government. Max’s greatest accomplishment is hiring, developing, and training over 300 young people who have no IT experience and who are now thriving in technology careers. Max believes that a strong and sustainable community depends on the success and well-being of its children.

Born to immigrant parents, Mr. Joseph’s passion for working with children’s come from his own upbringing in Little Haiti. He is the 6th of 7 children. Although his parents did their best to provide a loving nurturing environment for him and his siblings, Mr. Joseph was exposed to poverty and rampant violence.

He was eventually influenced by his environment which led to mischievous behavior that landed him in juvenile detention. Max used this experience as an opportunity to change his life and focus on being a provider for his family. His “hustling” skills and strong work ethic was picked up from his mother and father. He also used that unfortunate experience as motivation to obtain his high school diploma and consider going to college.

After completing high school and still undecided about his next move, the entrepreneurial (hustler’s) spirit of his mother led Max to selling CDs to support himself and provide for his family. This led to Max’s interest in computers and technology. After receiving some guidance from his cousin, he decided to enroll in Miami Dade’s technology program. This would be a life-changing decision for Max. Today he laments how that decision not only changed his life, but the lives of those who grew up in similar conditions. He is a living example of how hard work and perseverance can help you to overcome any obstacles that life may throw at you. Today, Mr. Joseph holds a wealth of experiences and an impressive resume of accomplishments. Mr. Joseph has over twenty years of experience in IT infrastructure development, deployment, and IT Project Management.

Mr. Joseph gained much of his initial Project Management experience on a theoretical level through the International Institute of Learning. He gained tremendous practical know-how through the implementation of numerous major projects, for organizations such as Unisys, Homeland Security/Digimarc, Broward County Supervisor of Elections and Dell Computer Corporation. As a practical matter, Mr. Joseph’s Project Management skill sets and background has been successfully applied to the IT infrastructure challenges of two of the largest School Districts in the nation, i.e., the School Board of Broward County and the Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Highly successful IT Refresh Projects within these major School Districts are a testimony to Mr. Joseph’s extraordinary Project Management achievements.

Mr. Joseph currently holds certification and IT credentials which include: MCSE, MCSA, MCP, CompTIA A+, and is Dell Enterprise Certified. In addition, Mr. Joseph is an expert with all Microsoft and Macintosh operating systems; wireless LAN protocols; remote network access; LAN and WAN architecture and support. His professional work experience includes Hewlett Packard, Lenovo, Acer, IBM, Xerox, Compaq, Gateway, Dell, and Apple. Mr. Joseph says that although his professional accomplishments are indeed impressive for a kid from Little Haiti, nothing has been more important than mentoring and working with the youth.

Mr. Joseph is a God-fearing man. He emphasizes the influence of praying parents that contributed to his success and passion for giving back to the community.

He also states, “I want to transform our community one student at a time”.
